Leadership Greene County is a comprehensive community leadership development program offered through the Greene County Partnership in Greene County, Tennessee. The program is designed to identify, educate, and equip emerging and established leaders with the knowledge, skills, and connections necessary to serve and strengthen the community.
The program is structured as a yearlong experience featuring monthly sessions that focus on key sectors within Greene County, including government, education, economic development, healthcare, and nonprofit and social services. Participants engage directly with local leaders and institutions to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges, opportunities, and assets that shape the county. The experience typically includes an opening retreat and collaborative activities that foster relationship building and community engagement. The primary goals of Leadership Greene County are to strengthen individual leadership capacity, expand participants’ understanding of how the community functions, encourage civic involvement, and cultivate a network of informed and committed leaders who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to Greene County’s future.
The program is intended for individuals who live or work in Greene County and who have demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to community involvement. Participants represent a cross section of sectors including business, education, government, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, and industry. Employers are encouraged to support employees whose professional growth and community engagement would benefit from participation. Registration for the 2026 cohort opens on March 1 and will close when 26 participants have registered or on July 10, 2026, whichever occurs first. The cost of participation is $1,000 for the full program year.
The cost of this program is $1,000 per person. This includes materials and supplies, the full day Retreat, and the overnight Nashville Trip.
