Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various alarm systems, including intrusion detection systems (IDS), fire alarms, and surveillance systems. This role requires a strong understanding of low voltage electrical systems, computer networking, and mechanical knowledge to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain alarm systems including sensors, CCTV cameras, and fire alarms.
• Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of existing security systems to ensure functionality.
• Collaborate with clients to assess their security needs and provide system design recommendations.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools for installation tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
• Read and interpret schematics to effectively install wiring and cabling for alarm systems.
• Provide field service support, responding promptly to service calls for repairs or system upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service activities in compliance with company policies.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in security technology to enhance service offerings.

Skills

• Proficiency in computer networking and remote access software.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in low voltage electrical systems.
• Familiarity with alarm system sales techniques and customer relationship management.
• Experience with cabling, installation of sensors, CCTV systems, and fire alarms.
• Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment effectively.
• Understanding of security system design principles and NEC regulations.
• Experience as a service technician in the security or telecommunications industry is preferred.
